Company Description:
Atomic Vaults is a B2B trading and fintech platform, backed by PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund and Cathie Wood's ARK Invest Fund. We offer US market access to international brokers and wealth managers, with a particular focus on Asian end customers. We are the first and only platform to introduce novel products and features tailored to APAC investors: 24x5 US options trading, including during Asian daytime hours. We believe everyone should have the same access to trade, hedge, earn yield, manage risk, and customize their portfolio, regardless of wealth level and geographical residence.
Team:
We are a selectively small and powerful team with backgrounds from Jane Street, HRT, Point72, and DE Shaw. The co-founders are graduates of MIT and Columbia, and our Board of Advisors consists of the former CEO of Citadel Securities.
About the Role:
We’re looking for scrappy self-starter backend developers familiar with high throughput distributed systems. You’ll be part of the team that hardens our core order management engine, optimizes TPS, develops new features, expands to new asset classes, and builds core trading strategies vis-à-vis retail order flow. You will work closely with the founders and be a key part of the technical leadership team.
Qualifications:
· Fluent in English
· A firefighter with a few burns and scars, but not burnt out! 🛠️ 🔥
· Expertise building real-time high-throughput systems at 99.9%+ uptime SLA
· Golang experience (or Rust or Python & C++ if no direct Golang experience)
· Experience building async queuing systems, batch processing, pub-sub architecture, websockets, etc.
· Database scalability & systems-level performance optimization
· Familiarity with infra-as-code, especially in AWS (e.g. configuring with Terraform, docker container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, etc.)
· Must be able to problem-solve from a “solutions-first” and “product-first” perspective, rather than “code-first” or “technology-first”
· Interest or prior experience in finance (e.g. trading, quant research, banking, brokerage, crypto exchange, etc.)
· Mandarin speaker highly preferred
· Some devops/SRE experience, especially with Terraform + AWS Cloudwatch stack, is a bonus!
Location:
· Company HQ is in San Francisco + Hong Kong + Amsterdam (in the works!). We are specifically hiring from Asia (especially China, Hong Kong, Singapore)
· Candidate may work remotely or in-person or hybrid. We are actively open to sponsoring for relocation.
Compensation:
· Cash component: 120K - 200K USD
· ESOP component: Up to 1.2M, vested over standard 4 years, based on current valuation estimate. Can be negotiable.
