We are Hiring UI/UX Designer with Graphic Design background to join our fast-growing tech startup, DB AI Technology Sdn. Bhd., a Malaysia Digital (MD) Certified company.
Role: UI/UX Designer (Junior–Mid Level)
Experience: 1–3 years (UI/UX + Graphic Design)
Type: Full-Time
Working hours: Monday - Friday | 9am - 6pm
Location: Onsite at SS15 Subang Jaya (current workplace - relocation in progress)
This is not a “wireframes-only” position. We’re looking for someone who can combine design thinking with visual craftsmanship—a designer who can go beyond screens and contribute to branding, marketing, product support, and creative materials.
We’re looking for someone who can:
- Understand and apply design fundamentals deeply.
- Create high-quality UI/UX interfaces while also handling creative graphic design tasks.
- Bring brand-level visual quality to our apps, websites, and internal assets.
- Think big-picture, plan ahead, and not just “design on demand.”
- Share better solutions and ideas—not just follow instructions blindly.
Key Responsibilities
As a UI/UX Designer with a graphic design background, you will:
UI/UX Design
- Assist in designing UI mockups, wireframes, and prototypes for web and mobile apps.
- Support UX flows and layouts based on user needs and product goals.
- Help maintain design consistency through shared guidelines and design systems.
- Conduct light usability testing or gather user feedback when needed.
Creative & Graphic Design
- Create branding assets, marketing collaterals, internal materials, and product support visuals.
- Bring brand-level visual quality to apps, websites, and internal assets.
- Contribute ideas and improvements that balance creativity with practicality.
Collaboration & Growth
- Work closely with the Creative & Product Manager for direction, mentorship, and planning.
- Collaborate with developers, engineers, and marketing teams to deliver seamless experiences.
- Manage tasks independently while also supporting and communicating effectively within the team.
- Think strategically—consider the bigger picture for each project, not just the immediate request.
Requirements
We’re looking for someone who:
- 1–3 years of experience in UI/UX and Graphic Design (junior with strong skillsets are welcome too).
- Strong foundation in UI/UX: wireframing, prototyping, user flows, and familiarity with design systems.
- Solid visual design fundamentals: typography, color, spacing, layout, and basic motion.
- Can work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills.
- Able to deliver polished visuals that balance creativity with usability and product goals.
- Balances creative trendiness with practical, timeless design approaches.
- Able to handle multiple tasks (UI, branding, marketing assets, product support) and iterate from feedback.
- Confident communicator — can say “No” when something isn’t necessary and can suggest better alternatives.
- Thinks beyond the task at hand, with the ability to plan, imagine, and execute bigger picture goals.
- Proficient with design tools (Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, other design tools are plus).
- Bonus: Experience in startup environments or tech product design is an advantage.
