Role Purpose : In the role of Senior Basis Consultant, the resource need to demonstrate the following skills:
Ability to assist team members in the development and implementation of technical solutions (Implementations, Upgrades and Migrations) and support with ongoing projects. Deep knowledge and understanding of SAP technologies and methodologies. Must have previous experience working in SPS Updates/Upgrades, HANA migration projects. Providing BASIS support for projects involving SAP BTP, Various SAP Products (ECC, CRM, SCM, EWM, BI, Solman, PI and EP) HANA and Sybase. Provide architectural guidance on cloud migration (AWS, GCP, Azure). Design end-to-end security for SAP on premise and SAP Cloud based applications including two factor authentications and single sign-on from anywhere on any device. Ability to troubleshoot/analyze and resolve technical problems. Ability to manage multiple tasks, work in a team environment, understand and be responsive to project and business needs. Ability to adapt and function effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment while working under deadlines. Ability to learn quickly and apply knowledge effectively.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Mandatory Skills:
- Working experience with latest versions of the following products: SAP components - ECC, SCM, EWM, CRM, BI, PI, Portal, SolMan and Java administration.
- Homogeneous/Heterogeneous system copy
- Able to understand and operate within complex technical environments
- Solid troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, tact, and maintain a clear purpose while working under pressure
- Perform SAP Application installations, Application Support Packages, Upgrades and production support for multiple SAP products (eg ECC, BI, SCM, CRM, EWM, Solution Manager, Enterprise Portal, PI, etc.).
- Assist in regular day-today administration and support tasks.
- Monitor, identify and implement Sybase/HANA database performance improvements as required by the SAP systems.
- Work together with the OS/DB and infrastructure administrators to ensure that the environment is adequately tuned for each SAP system.
- Assist in the sizing of SAP applications and application components.
- Perform client and system copies, new SAP instance installation support, table reorganizations, connectivity and general maintenance as required by the designated focal points.
- Monitor and proactively tune all SAP systems and clients to ensure adequate performance as per established parameters.
- Conduct timely troubleshooting, incident management and resolution
- Report and coordinate product related issues with SAP and liaise with SAP as required for special actions such as access keys, etc.
- Propose new standards and maintain existing approved SAP Netweaver/Basis standard operating procedures
- Create and update Standard Operating Procedures documenting the function, in coordination with the rest of the team
- Share knowledge with other SAP NetWeaver/Basis administrators and document all solutions as per standard formats
- Collaborate effectively with other teams on requirements gathering, process improvement and in the design, development, and implementation of an SAP architecture to promote a scalable, robust, and manageable environment.
- Provide technical guidance to SAP application development teams and assist with problem resolution.
- Analyze data access, integration, and storage requirements for Sybase/HANA databases sustaining the SAP environments.
- Comply with and enforce change management/transport procedures.
- Provide suggestion and strategy for an effective and no-disruptive hand-over and knowledge transfer.
- Experience with SAP NetWeaver Identity Provider for X.509 certificates, Kerberos and SAML 2.0
Preferred Skills:
- SAP BTP Administration and maintenance.
- Install, configure, maintain and support multiple SAP landscapes and 3rd party tools.
- Serve as domain expert and focal point for planning, assessment and frameworks including, capacity Tuning and Performance management,
- Help program and project management in identifying key technical risks, prepare technical mitigation plans
- Responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of the Basis component of SAP systems and will assist in the planning, designing, and architecting of SAP systems across a variety of platforms and databases.
- Should have experience performing system sizing, OS/DB Migrations using DMO to migrate large databases, both traditional on-premise migrations and on-premise to cloud migrations.
- Should be able to recommend and implement downtime optimization techniques for said migrations
- Perform SAP HANA Migration and SAP S/4HANA Conversions and provide recommendations on best practices for migrations and upgrades.
- Should have experience with installation and configuration of Gateway/Fiori, Web dispatcher and SAP Cloud connector.
- Administration of SAP HANA system integration within an SAP Landscape.
- HANA Security, HANA SLT Configuration, Suite on HANA, BW on HANA and BW/4HANA Migrations, HANA System Monitoring, HANA Install & Config, Health Checks, and Monitoring.
- Should have experience installing support packs, conducting upgrades, executing backups/recovery, system refresh and troubleshooting as well as database administration, conducting failover of production systems, and monitoring and performance tuning of SAP systems.
- Experience working with public IaaS providers (GCP, AWS, Azure).
- Experience with systems and cloud monitoring techniques and technologies.
- Expertise in SAP Infrastructure with emphasis on SAP Basis, Security, Change management, SAP Integration technologies, Development Workbench, Memory management, and Workload management.
- Certification in one of AWS, Azure or GCP handling SAP Workload is a plus.
- Ability to communicate verbally and distill complex technical terms with conciseness, clarity, and accuracy.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree is required, Master’s degree is preferred.
Certifications
- Certifications in System Administration SAP HANA with SAP NetWeaver 7.5 is a plus
- Certifications in SAP HANA 2.0 SPS05 is a plus
- Certifications in SAP S/4HANA Conversion and SAP System Upgrade is a plus
Experience
- Minimum of 8-10 years of SAP experience in Implementation and Support for complex SAP Landscapes.
- Cloud Platform Administration 2-4 years
