Position: Azure Data Engineer (Offshore - Remote)

About The Role
Smartbridge is seeking an Azure Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize data solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure technologies. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 8 years of experience working with Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Synapse Analytics, SQL, and ETL processes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Design and implement data models for efficient storage and retrieval in Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Optimize SQL queries and performance tuning for large datasets.
- Work with Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, and other cloud data solutions.
- Implement data security measures, including role-based access control (RBAC) and data masking.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Azure Data Factory (ADF) – Building, orchestrating, and monitoring data pipelines.
- Azure Synapse Analytics – Data modeling, performance optimization.
- SQL Server & T-SQL – Writing complex queries, stored procedures.
- ETL & Data Transformation – Experience handling large datasets.
- Azure Data Lake & Blob Storage – Managing structured and unstructured data.
- Power BI or other visualization tools (preferred but not mandatory).
- Python or Spark (Databricks experience is a plus).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Microsoft Azure certification (preferred but not mandatory).
- Experience in Oil & Gas, Life Science, or Food & Beverage is a plus.
- 100% remote role – Must be available for the second shift to overlap with the US team until Noon CST.
- 3-month probation period before full-time confirmation. If certification is not already held, it must be completed during probation.
Candidates will undergo a 45-60 minute TestGorilla assessment, including:
- Intro Video Section – Candidate introduction & motivation.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills – Scenario-based questions.
- Technical Test – Covering SQL, Azure Data Engineering-related questions, and possible coding tasks.
