We are looking for a Data Scientist who is willing to relocate to join our Client’s team in The Hague, Netherlands.

Eligibility:

  • Candidate must have resided in Portugal for at least the past 5 years.
  • Portuguese citizenship is mandatory.
  • Candidate must be prepared to obtain EU security clearance upon accepting the job offer (with Hexa coordination).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply established data science techniques to new datasets and problems to support business needs.
  • Select, prepare, and process structured/unstructured data for analysis and model development.
  • Evaluate machine learning and statistical models, refine algorithms, and improve training datasets.
  • Produce reports, visualisations, and analytical outputs tailored to stakeholder needs.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines and support the organisation’s data lake infrastructure.
  • Recommend and implement ML approaches, improve internal tools, and support AI adoption.
  • Stay current with innovations in data science and AI, introducing new methods where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and academic/industry partners.
  • Provide support across NATO/NCIA sites, including regular travel as required.
  • May deputize for senior staff in technical or coordination meetings.


Required Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of post-degree experience in a relevant data science role.

Technical Expertise:

  • Hands-on experience with data science, analytics, and integration tools.
  • Proficiency with data visualisation platforms and analytics workflows.
  • Background in technical organisations with data-driven operations.

Must demonstrate at least two of the following:

  • Experience with Big Data ecosystems (e.g., DataBricks, Spark).
  • Planning and maintaining data pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of ML/statistical models and ability to explain them to diverse audiences.

Desirable:

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, AI Engineering, or related area.
  • Experience with tools like Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire, Kibana, Dash, Streamlit.
  • Familiarity with DevOps best practices (git, CI/CD pipelines).
  • Experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
