This position is looking for a highly motivated test engineer with emphasis in developmental and operational test of Anduril’s suite of software and hardware systems. You will work heavily with cross-functional engineering and program stakeholders to support and/or lead a team focused on solving hard problems and changing the industry forever. The role will be responsible for planning, coordination, execution and reporting on all facets of the test program.

Overview
Anduril is seeking a Test Engineer (SEIT) to serve as the Test Lead for the Army’s Next Generation Command & Control (NGC2) system and additional products within our Connected Warfare division. This is a Level 5 staff role with responsibility for leading a team of test engineers and managing the full test lifecycle across both software-enabled hardware and software systems.
This role is ideal for a test professional who thrives in both laboratory and field environments, can lead a small team of test engineers, and has the judgment to work across engineering teams while directly interfacing with government customers. You will own major test efforts end-to-end—from planning and integration in a hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) lab to executing field validation testing and delivering formal test reports.

What You’ll Do
- Lead the planning, execution, and reporting of test campaigns for Anduril’s Connected Warfare programs, ensuring rigorous verification and validation of integrated hardware/software systems. You will be working within and in some cases leading teams of test engineers and providing them essential technical leadership, guidance, and oversight during test campaigns.
- Your responsibilities will include developing, executing, and reporting throughout system integration tests, developmental tests, operational assessments, and customer acceptance events.
- You will define and manage verification strategies that encompass requirements-based, scenario-based, and operationally relevant test methods, including the incorporation of customer required standards and metrics.
- You will coordinate cross-functional test activities in collaboration with Program Management, Engineering, SEIT, and external test ranges and agencies. Oversight of Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), management of test incidents, and tracking deficiencies will be crucial.
- You are responsible to ensure that all issues and deviations from performance specifications or system requirements are documented, prioritized, and communicated to the engineering teams in a timely manner.
- Establishing measurable test coverage metrics will be part of your responsibilities while you ensure traceability from requirements through verification and validation results.
- You will perform and supervise data analysis related to system performance during lab and operational test environments. test measurements, and mission outcomes, placing a strong emphasis on actionable findings.
- You will represent your team at customer reviews, readiness boards, and milestone decision points. You are central to ensuring that test campaigns are executed safely and in a disciplined manner, whether in lab settings or austere field environments.
- Execute field validation testing, including coordination with external ranges, government partners, and cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline (advanced degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered).
- 8+ years of experience in system-level test and evaluation of integrated hardware/software systems, with at least 3+ years in a technical leadership or test lead capacity.
- Demonstrated ability to own significant portions of a test program, including test planning, lab integration, field execution, and reporting.
- Hands-on experience with developmental and operational test events in both lab and field settings.
- Strong background in requirements development, test planning, verification/validation, and test reporting, including traceability management.
- Familiarity with RF communications, tactical datalinks, and networked C2 systems in DoD operational environments.
- Demonstrated familiarity with industry and DoD test processes, including MIL-STD test protocols and government verification practices.
- Skilled in test metrics definition and reporting (e.g., test coverage %, requirements verification %, defect closure rates).
- Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills with ability to brief at senior levels (internal and external).
- Ability to travel periodically up to 50% for test execution at ranges and field sites.
- Active or immediately eligible for a U.S. Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or related technical field.
- Prior experience as Test Lead on a DoD test program or equivalent.
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC, MIL-STD-810 environmental testing, and MIL-STD-1275/1553/1760 standards.
- Experience with test automation frameworks, data analysis tools, and test instrumentation.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, software integration, and hardware-in-the-loop test environments.
- Field experience in remote, austere, or tactical operational settings.
- Eligibility for Top Secret/SCI clearance.
US Salary Range
$146,000—$194,000 USD
