Join a founder-led human performance company to lead a full brand identity overhaul and then own ongoing creative output across web, social, and YouTube. You’ll take a messy, half-there brand and turn it into a crisp, unmistakable system—then keep it consistent and alive week after week. The ideal designer blends sharp taste with systems thinking: you obsess over typography, color, spacing, and hierarchy, and you know how to translate that into scalable templates for thumbnails, social, and web. This is a remote retainer role beginning with a complete brand project, followed by monthly ongoing work.
Location: Global, remote
Responsibilities- Own the brand identity rebuild end-to-end: Audit current look/feel and the provided deck; define or refine logo/wordmark, typography scale, color system, grid, iconography, illustration/motion direction, and brand guidelines.
- Create a scalable design system: Deliver a living Figma library, componentized templates, and design tokens that make production fast and consistent across channels.
- Web design, then ongoing iteration: Design the marketing site (and new landing pages as needed) using the brand system; provide responsive layouts, UI patterns, and asset specs for implementation.
- YouTube thumbnails that drive clicks: Build a repeatable thumbnail style (layout, type, color, focal point) and produce weekly thumbnails optimized for clarity and CTR.
- Social creative that actually ships: Design Instagram and LinkedIn assets (single posts, carousels, short-form video covers) with ready-to-use templates and clear content hierarchies.
- Quality bar + speed: Ship on tight cycles without sacrificing polish; maintain a tidy file structure, version control, and consistent naming.
- Creative partnership: Proactively propose improvements, new treatments, and experiments—balancing the house style with fresh ideas.
- Handover and documentation: Keep guidelines practical and concise; enable non-design teammates to produce on-brand assets confidently.
Requirements- Taste you can defend: A portfolio that demonstrates excellent typography, color discipline, spacing, and a confident point of view. If past work “just looks good,” show us why—before/after examples welcome.
- Brand systems expertise: Proven experience turning a brand concept into a production-ready system (guidelines, Figma libraries, templates) used across web, social, and video.
- Performance content chops: Demonstrated success designing high-performing YouTube thumbnails and social graphics; you understand composition, subject isolation, and headline hierarchy for scroll-stopping clarity.
- Web design fluency: Strong marketing-site and landing-page design skills; familiarity with implementation constraints (Webflow/WordPress or handoff to devs). Basic knowledge of responsive behavior and accessibility best practices.
- Toolset: Figma at an expert level; Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator for image manipulation and vector work. After Effects or motion skills are a plus.
- Bias to action: Comfortable working directly with a founder, incorporating feedback quickly, and iterating toward “right” rather than defending “first.”
- Professionalism & reliability: Clear communication, predictable turnarounds, and thoughtful file hygiene for a distributed team.
- Nice-to-haves: Light copy/design pairing, thumbnail testing experience (A/B frameworks), Webflow proficiency, and simple motion systems for social.
