About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join their product team and help build scalable, high-performance software. You’ll work on APIs, services, and backend architecture, collaborating closely with frontend, UX, and data science teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain core functionalities of the product, including APIs, services, and databases.
- Lead discussions and decision-making around product architecture and feature development.
- Shape technical direction, promote best practices, and take full ownership of the team’s success.
- Write high-quality, maintainable code with a focus on performance and scalability.
- Collaborate closely with team members to achieve shared goals.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of professional experience working with Python in production environments
- 5+ years developing web applications, with a strong understanding of backend systems
- Extensive SQL expertise, particularly with PostgreSQL; familiarity with SQLAlchemy is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both within the development team and with external stakeholders
- Strong autonomy
- Fluent in English (conversational level)
Conditions
- Salary range: 60-75K
- Ideally based in or near Barcelona (relocation support available). Hybrid setup with 2 days/week in the office.
