Space Digital-Twin Engineer in BELGIUM

We are looking for a Digital Twin Engineer, interested in Systems simualtions for Space, to support the Cybersecurity team’s space and security simulation activities in Transinne, Belgium.

Tasks and Activities

The scope of work will include:

• Design generic space system simulation capabilities.
• Finalize requirements and design and prepare test plans, test cases and test procedures for the space system simulation and its subcomponents.
• Lead development and test of the subcomponents.
• Develop interfaces to specialized external hardware required to support cybersecurity testing.
• Integrate subcomponents into test scenarios.
• Perform verification testing of the space system simulation.
• Integrate space system simulation into RHEA’s cyber-range technology (CITEF).
• Support system verification and validation activities.
• Lead and perform mission-specific tailoring.
• Implement cyberattack scenarios over the space system simulation.

Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience are mandatory:

• Bachelor's degree, or more, in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Aerospace, or a related field.
• C/C++/Java programming language experience.
• Linux operating system.
• Spacecraft and/or ground segment engineering.
• Knowledge of one or more of the following:

-CCSDS TM/TC

-ECSS standards

-CCSDS SLE Protocols

-CCSDS SDLS Protocols

-CubeSat Protocols

-Knowledge of security technologies and associated tools.

-Knowledge of security vulnerability analysis and penetration testing techniques or practical application of attack patterns.

-Knowledge of governance, norms and standards in the field of security: (one or more among) ISO (2700X), NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK.

-Virtualization platforms: (one or more among) Vmware/KVM/OpenSwitch, OpenNebula, Open Stack, etc.

• Strong interpersonal skills, team working, good analytic and problem solving capabilities.
• Strong communication and documentation abilities.
• Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.

The following skills and experience would be highly desirable:

• Eligibility for an EU or national personal security clearance at the level of SECRET or above.
