We are seeking an inspiring and forward-looking engineering leader to shape the future of our Buyer Experience. This leader will energize and align teams to build seamless, high-impact user journeys—from discovery to conversion—across web and mobile. As we evolve our platforms and accelerate our growth, the VP of Engineering, Buyer Experience will play a critical role in scaling technology, developing talent, and partnering cross-functionally to deliver exceptional buyer-facing products. This is a pivotal leadership role with a lasting impact on our company’s future direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering teams across the Buyer journey—from discovery through conversion—across web and mobile.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Marketing to deliver high-impact user experiences grounded in performance, accessibility, and scalability.
- Drive engineering excellence through modern development practices, quality standards, and shared component usage.
- Hire, coach, and develop top engineering talent, including setting expectations for engineering managers, tech leads, and ICs.
- Partner with platform and architecture leaders to ensure the Buyer experience leverages shared infrastructure and aligns with long-term platform evolution.
- Translate business priorities into technical strategy and execution roadmaps.
- Establish strong engineering metrics (velocity, quality, stability) and accountability for delivery outcomes.
- Create clarity and focus across a multi-site, hybrid engineering team.

Requirements
- 15+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years leading senior engineering leaders and multi-team organizations.
- Proven success leading consumer-facing web and mobile engineering teams at scale.
- Track record of driving meaningful business outcomes through product and platform modernization.
- Deep understanding of modern frontend and backend technologies, including performance, accessibility, and responsive design best practices.
- Experience building and scaling systems for high availability, low latency, and rapid delivery.
- Skilled at managing hybrid and distributed teams with clarity and accountability.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to align technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in fast-paced environments with high growth and ambiguity.
- Passion for mentoring and developing engineering talent at all levels.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; advanced degree a plus.
