Job Title: HR Lead/HR Manager (12 MONTH maternity cover BEGINNING JAN 2026)

Responsible To: CFO

DIVISION: HR


We’re looking for a seasoned HR and recruitment professional to cover a wide spectrum of HR responsibilities while maintaining a strong focus on talent acquisition. As a standalone position, this role combines end to end recruitment, operational HR and strategic projects in conjunction with the management team.

As a fully distributed business, you are accustomed to working remotely to support our teams and managers across the whole spectrum of HR and recruitment.


🧩 Core Responsibilities

1. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • You’ll help to shape the future capability of our teams, by developing and executing recruitment plans aligned with business growth projections.
  • Work with line managers to help carve out job specifications and brainstorm hiring needs
  • Manage end-to-end hiring processes: sourcing, interviewing, offer management, and onboarding.
  • Liaise with external agencies to support niche hiring needs
  • Conduct salary benchmarking and market analysis to ensure competitive offers.


2. HR Operations

  • Oversee payroll, benefits administration, and associated compliance
  • Maintain Exelsys HRIS system and employee records.
  • Draft and manage employment contracts, policies, and internal documentation.
  • Maintenance and expansion of our HR policies and procedures
  • Creating monthly board reports based on key HR metrics
  • Ensure that HR practices are in line with Employment Law and legislation changes


3. Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Act as a trusted advisor for managers and employees, confidently handling sensitive ER cases and grievances
  • Prepare and review documents associated with formal grievances, performance improvement plans
  • Lead cultural initiatives and engagement activities (e.g. engagement surveys, away days).
  • Support leadership development and coaching plans for senior teams.


4. Learning & Development

  • Coordinate L&D programs and platforms (e.g. Atlas, Citation) alongside management team.
  • Deliver and expand onboarding plans and training materials for new hires.


5. Strategic Projects

  • You’ll work closely with our management team to ensure our people and talent foundations scale with us.
  • Partner with leadership on HR strategy, change management, and due diligence.
  • Implement new initiatives such as ESG, global payroll solutions, and performance frameworks
  • Work with the CFO to manage and update the HR budget
  • Attend monthly management meetings to advocate and push for the representation of the HR function
  • Spearhead the HR and people compliance aspects of our expansion into new geographies (namely USA and Canada), responsible for aspects of employment law, policies and payroll


🧠 Skills & Attributes

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to build relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders up to board level seniority
  • You probably have 7-10 years of experience working in the people or talent function, ideally within the technology space
  • Experience in working in a remote, standalone broad generalist HR position
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience across the full employee lifecycle.
  • Exposure to end-to-end recruitment and talent attraction
  • Familiarity with employment law and compliance across multiple regions.
  • Proficiency in HR systems and data analysis.
  • Happy to get ‘into the weeds’ and stuck into a wide breadth of responsibilities
