About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Architect to lead the design and development of advanced software architectures for data acquisition systems used in aircraft engine testing. In this role, you will evaluate both vendor and in-house systems, explore emerging technologies, and spearhead initiatives to enhance our test cell systems. Your expertise will be instrumental in designing scalable, reliable, and efficient data acquisition and processing solutions that support our testing operations. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, engage with customers to identify system improvements, and drive innovation within the organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the future of aerospace testing and contribute to the development of next-generation test systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Experience designing and integrating complex software systems.
- Knowledge of cloud-enabled and cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes, Kafka/Pulsar, and Hadoop.
- Proficiency in programming languages including Java, C/C++, and Python.
- Familiarity with integrating, storing, or processing time-series data from diverse sources.
- Experience developing data acquisition, sensor data management, or stream processing software.
- Ability to develop and execute technical roadmaps, supporting both current and legacy systems.
- Proficiency with modern software development tools and processes.
- Strong project management and team leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills for conveying complex technical information to diverse audiences.
- Active or eligible for a US DoD Security Clearance.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, procure, and evaluate data acquisition and processing systems for engine testing applications.
- Assess current systems and engage with customers to identify areas for improvement and future enhancements.
- Stay updated on the latest technological advancements relevant to data systems and integrate innovative solutions to improve performance and reduce costs.
- Plan and execute validation testing in laboratory and field environments to ensure system reliability and accuracy.
- Participate in design reviews and produce comprehensive technical documentation adhering to engineering standards and policies.
- Make informed decisions and solve moderately complex technical challenges related to system operation, product management, and engineering.
- Mentor and lead small project teams, fostering consensus and ensuring project milestones are met.
- Act as a resource for less experienced colleagues, providing technical guidance and support.
- Own and develop technical roadmaps for software systems, ensuring long-term support and evolution.
