About Us
goCloudOffice is a fast-growing IT services and consulting firm that acts as the outsourced IT department for small and medium businesses. We deliver technical support, cybersecurity, compliance services, and cloud management across multiple clients. Our model relies on leveraging highly skilled contractors and consultants to respond to client needs, scale flexibly, and maintain high service standards.
Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned IT consultant to partner with us on a part-time, contractor basis. Instead of embedding you as a staff support resource, youll engage on defined scopes of work, with discretion in how you deliver those outcomes.
You may be engaged to resolve escalated technical issues, execute project-based assignments, and provide consulting input to client solutions under specific statements of work (SOWs).
You will not be managed in a traditional employee sense; rather, youll collaborate under SOWs that define deliverables, deadlines, and acceptance criteria.
Example Scope / Deliverables
Below are sample responsibilities and deliverables that may be part of your engagement (depending on the specific SOW). You are not obligated to execute all of them simultaneously:
Receive and resolve high-complexity tickets escalated from junior staff or automated triage systems. Provide root-cause analysis and post-resolution documentation.
- Project-Based Engagements
Lead or co-lead defined projects such as tenant migrations (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace), new cloud deployments, network refreshes, or security upgrades.
- Onboarding / Offboarding Events
For batch user onboarding or offboarding (e.g., new acquisition, layoff events), provision access, set security policies, deprovision resources, and document changes.
Perform periodic reviews of client IT setups, produce health check reports, propose improvements, and assist with strategic roadmaps for infrastructure.
- Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
Prepare client-facing documentation, runbooks, and training sessions as needed for client staff or internal team members.
- Automation & AI Tool Application
Use and/or create scripts, playbooks, or AI-augmented tooling (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) to automate repetitive tasks and improve support throughput.
Respond to requests for short-term or urgent support, if agreed in advance as part of a specific SOW.
What You Bring
- 7+ years of IT support / consulting experience, ideally with multi-client or MSP-like environments
- Deep knowledge of cloud ecosystems (Microsoft 365 / Azure, Google Workspace, etc.)
- Strong hands-on experience with endpoint management, network devices, and security tools
- Proven track record of carrying out project deliverables through completion and ensuring work is properly closed out
- Ability to learn new SaaS/cloud platforms quickly and apply solutions effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Responsiveness and client-first approach reachable when engaged, prompt in communication, and able to provide timely updates within agreed timelines
- Commitment to customer experience take ownership of assigned work, follow through to resolution, and deliver outcomes that enhance the end-user/client experience
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Strong familiarity and hands-on use of automation and AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, scripting) to improve efficiency
- Must reside and work within U.S. Eastern Time Zone
Engagement Terms & Contractor Guidelines
- Independent Contractor Status
You are engaged as an independent contractor. This is not an employer-employee relationship. You are responsible for your own taxes, insurance, benefits, equipment, and business expenses (unless otherwise negotiated in a specific SOW).
You decide how, when, and where to perform your work, subject only to meeting agreed deliverables, deadlines, and quality standards.
You are free to work with other clients concurrently. This helps reinforce the independence of your business.
You will generally provide your own workstation, network connectivity, and software tools unless a specific SOW explicitly provides otherwise.
Each engagement or project will be governed by a written SOW or task order that describes deliverables, acceptance criteria, timeline, and budget. You will submit periodic invoices in accordance with that SOW.
- Revisions & Change Orders
Changes or additions to scope must be handled via formal change orders to the SOW (additional work is not implicitly part of the base contract).
A separate agreement will assign client-facing work product and deliverables (assigning IP), require nondisclosure of client data, etc.
The contract may be terminated per the SOW (e.g., with 30 days notice). Clients may reject work that fails acceptance criteria before payment.
- No Benefits / No Payroll Withholding
You are not eligible for company benefits, and we will not withhold taxes or provide standard employee benefits.
