Senior GNC Engineer


Location: Paris, France

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Start Date: ASAP


A European aerospace launcher company is seeking a Senior GNC Engineer to strengthen its development team. The role focuses on the design, validation and integration of flight guidance algorithms and control strategies for orbital missions.


Responsibilities

  • Define technical performance requirements for the GNC system, including subsystem specifications and acceptance testing.
  • Produce justification files for system design and demonstrate compliance with mission requirements.
  • Support integration of the GNC subsystem into the overall launcher architecture.


Key Activities

  • Develop flight guidance algorithms, including mission feasibility assessments and algorithmic design.
  • Perform analysis of off-nominal flight scenarios and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Define, implement, and execute qualification test plans for models and system-level validation.


Required Profile

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in aerospace engineering, physics, or control systems.
  • Ideally 3+ years of experience in GNC development within the aerospace or defence sector.
  • Expertise with MATLAB/Simulink or comparable modelling and simulation tools.
  • Familiarity with parallel computation techniques and Monte Carlo simulations for system validation.
  • Solid foundation in orbital mechanics, flight dynamics, and control theory.
  • Programming experience in embedded C/C++ or Ada is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in mission analysis for LEO constellations and/or lunar trajectories.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate across disciplines.
