We’re expanding our engineering team and looking for a Junior Python Developer to help us build scalable, reliable technology that supports education at scale.
Role Overview
As a Junior Python Developer at Iskima, you’ll contribute to the design and development of backend systems that power our platform. You’ll work on APIs, integrations, and data processing features, collaborating with experienced developers and product managers to deliver solutions that directly impact learners and educators worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Python
- Collaborate with the product and engineering teams on new feature development
- Write clean, efficient, and testable code
- Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize existing applications
- Work with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) to query and manage data
- Assist in code reviews and contribute to team best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Solid understanding of Python fundamentals
- Familiarity with web frameworks such as Flask or Django
- Basic knowledge of RESTful API design
- Experience working with relational databases (SQL)
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn
- Good communication skills, able to work well in a remote team environment
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Experience with Git and version control workflows
- Understanding of unit testing and CI/CD pipelines
- Internship, bootcamp, or project experience with Python development
