We are seeking a Mid-Level Test Engineer to support Model and Simulation (M&S) systems, with a focus on Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Ground Test activities. This role involves supporting all phases of test planning and execution—including pre-mission setup, live mission operations, and post-mission analysis—as well as developing test procedures and ensuring simulation systems meet technical performance standards. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, and experience working with simulation-based test environments.
As a Mid-Level Test Engineer your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:
- Design and develop moderately complex test programs, test stations, and automation systems to support M&S platforms.
- Write and maintain test procedures and protocols for evaluating product performance and reliability.
- Develop and execute test simulations to assess system behavior under various operational conditions.
- Support Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Ground Tests by performing pre-mission configuration, system checkout, and readiness verification.
- Serve as the primary test operator during MDA Ground Test events, executing scripted procedures and monitoring system performance in real-time.
- Conduct post-mission data collection and analysis, identify issues, and support root cause investigations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to improve product performance, test coverage, and system reliability.
- Analyze test results, generate reports, and assess compliance with system requirements and customer specifications.
- Debug and troubleshoot test hardware/software and support integration and verification/validation (IV&V) efforts.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a test engineering role, preferably in defense, aerospace, or simulation-based testing environments.
- Experience operating and supporting model-based simulation systems in a test or mission environment.
- Proficiency with test scripting, test tools, and data analysis.
- Ability to work in mission-critical, real-time test environments, with attention to detail and system accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Some travel and shift work may be required during test events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience supporting MDA Ground Test events or other large-scale defense test campaigns.
- Familiarity with HIL (hardware-in-the-loop), SIL (software-in-the-loop), and distributed simulation environments.
- Working knowledge of DoD test processes, requirements verification, and test execution standards.
- Experience with Python, MATLAB, , or similar test development environments.
- Active or eligible for DoD Security Clearance.
