Overview

A Microsoft Gold Partner is looking for a Microsoft Security Architect to join on a short-term basis. This role focuses on delivering advanced security solutions across the Microsoft ecosystem, ensuring robust design, governance, and compliance. The contractor will act as the subject matter expert on Microsoft security tooling and Azure, working closely with technical teams to design and document best-practice solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Design and shape end-to-end security architectures using Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, Entra Private Access, and the Microsoft Defender portfolio.
  • Deliver high-quality technical documentation, including architecture blueprints, security frameworks, and solution implementation guides.
  • Establish and enforce governance and compliance standards, incorporating features such as tagging, Azure Locks, and DR planning.
  • Provide technical authority and leadership, advising on security best practices and supporting delivery teams.
  • Contribute to solution proposals by outlining approach, effort, and timelines where required.


Core Skills & Experience

  • Proven expertise in Azure infrastructure and security design.
  • Strong knowledge of identity and access management with Entra ID and related security capabilities.
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Defender technologies and Microsoft Sentinel (or similar SIEM platforms).
  • Solid background in Azure networking security (Firewall, NSGs, NVAs such as Barracuda).
  • Experience with endpoint management using Microsoft Intune.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing, with a strong focus on documentation.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft certifications such as AZ-500 or SC-100.
  • Understanding of secure development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
  • Familiarity with data protection frameworks (GDPR, ISO 27001).
  • Exposure to project delivery or project management methodologies.
