The Role
We're seeking a DeFi Full-Stack Developer to maintain and enhance a production decentralized exchange on the Fuel blockchain. You'll be responsible for the ongoing development of the web interface, ensuring a seamless trading experience for users interacting with liquidity pools and token swaps. While DeFi knowledge is valuable, you won't be working on smart contracts—your focus is on the application layer.
What You'll Build
- DEX Frontend
- Maintain and enhance the React-based trading interface
- Integrate with smart contracts and indexer data
- Build performant, responsive web apps that work across devices
- Work with REST, GraphQL, and WebSockets
- Implement state management solutions
- Backend Services
- Develop and maintain indexer services
- Write handler functions to convert blockchain event streams to relational databases
- Ensure data consistency between on-chain and off-chain systems
What We’re Looking For
- TypeScript Mastery: Strong typing, generics, modular architecture; Monorepo (Nx) experience required
- React Development: Proficiency with modern React patterns and component architecture
- Data Modeling: Ability to map data between blockchain events, APIs, and UI state
- Database & ORM: Experience with relational databases and ORMs (Drizzle ORM used)
- State Management: Frontend and backend state management including Redux or similar libraries
- Web Standards: Understanding and adherence to web standards and best practices
- UX & Security Awareness: Prioritize safe, user-focused experiences in DeFi contexts
- Problem-Solving: Navigate poor docs, reverse-engineer unfamiliar systems, debug across layers
- Documentation: Ability to read and write technical documentation
✨ Nice to Have
- Experience testing wallets/connectors (Playwright, Puppeteer, Cypress)
- Basic Knowledge of financial tools like perpetuals and derivatives.
- Defi Experience
- Understanding gas-fee estimation and optimizations within blockchains
- Contributions to open-source blockchain SDKs or libs
