As a Mid DMP artist, you will contribute your talent and technical expertise to create stunning and immersive digital matte paintings that seamlessly blend with live-action footage. Your ability to paint detailed and realistic matte paintings will play a crucial role in enhancing the visual storytelling of our projects.
Requirements
Duties:
- Create photorealistic DMPs based on concept art, photography, or plate extensions
- Robust knowledge of camera projection and 2.5D setups in Nuke
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with other departments and align your work with shot needs
- Able to work with and Incorporate lidar, reference photography, HDRIs, and scan data into DMP creation
- Respond to notes from leads and supervisors to iterate quickly
- Maintain readable and clean working files following naming conventions
- Maintain accuracy in scale, lighting, and continuity across the sequence
- Work independently on briefs while communicating with surrounding departments
Skills, attributes and experience:
- Proficient in Photoshop, Nuke, Maya, and camera projection techniques
- Solid eye for composition, perspective, light, and atmosphere
- Experienced with multi-camera setups and basic geometry projection
- Good understanding of set extension workflows and 2.5D integration
- Familiarity with 3D asset integration in DMP workflows
- Basic knowledge of USD or layout tools is a plus
- Excellent communicator, sharing information clearly and actively listening
- Strong time management, ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and escalate delays in a timely manner
- Adaptable to change with the ability to stay focused and maintain a positive attitude
- Driven to make things better with flexibility to change course when needed
- Positive energy, focusing on results and having a positive impact on those around you
- Self awareness and an ability to resolve and diffuse problems treating others with kindness and respect
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work well with others
- 4-5 years in VFX or a related field

Hours and location
Our core hours are 9.30am to 6.30pm or 10am to 7pm Monday to Friday.
We have a great office in Old Street where you would be based. This is an hybrid role where you would be required to work in the studio a minimum 2 days a week
