Glcomms are partnerning with an advertising client that are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Engineer to support their growing infrastructure needs. This role requires a strong technical foundation, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams.


W2 WORKER NEEDED

Location: Fully remote

Duration: 6 months contract - highly likely to extend

Start Date: ASAP


Key Areas of Expertise

  • Proficient in macOS and Windows operating systems
  • 3–5 years of experience in desktop support or IT service desk roles
  • Hands-on experience with Amazon Workspaces and AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices
  • Consistent and detailed documentation of incidents, root causes, and resolutions
  • Effective communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
  • Familiarity with endpoint management/MDM tools such as Kandji, Meraki, and Jamf
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to manage multiple priorities


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support across Apple and Windows environments as part of the infrastructure team
  • Provision and configure user devices, including software installation and access to shared resources
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
  • Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems and applications
  • Deploy patches, updates, and security configurations in collaboration with the IT team
  • Maintain accurate asset inventory and ensure device compliance and security
  • Support remote users via RDP, VPN, or remote access tools
  • Document incidents and resolutions in the ticketing system (e.g., Jira) with appropriate categorization
  • Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, and assist with SSO application assignments
  • Manage user lifecycle processes (onboarding, offboarding, role changes) and enforce security policies
  • Coordinate with vendors and escalate issues as needed
  • Flexibility to work outside standard business hours when required


Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+/Network+/Security+, MCSA, Microsoft 365, or Azure Fundamentals
  • Scripting experience with PowerShell, Bash, or Python
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (VPN, VLANs, DNS/DHCP), certificate management, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting
