Overview
The Manual Tester – VA LGY (VALERI) provides functional, non‑functional, and regression testing for applications. This role reviews and analyzes requirements and technical designs; prepares and reviews test plans and cases; executes tests across Unit, System, Integration, Regression, and supports User Acceptance Testing; and identifies, reports, and helps resolve issues. The tester produces high‑quality deliverables with a team lead, evaluates solution options, contributes as a supportive teammate, and maintains positive client relationships. Success requires at least one year of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience), excellent written and verbal communication, strong attention to detail and problem solving, the ability to shift priorities, leadership in ambiguity, persistence to drive work to completion, and proficiency with the Microsoft Suite.
Key Functions
- Manual tester to provide functional, non-functional, and regression testing.
- Review and analyze requirements, specifications, and technical design documents, providing timely feedback.
- Prepare and review test plans and test cases.
- Perform various tasks for testing applications.
- Able to identify and report issues found, then verify that issues are resolved.
- Contribute to issue resolution.
- Conduct software and system testing to include Unit, System, Integration, Regression and support User Acceptance Testing for applications.
- Create high quality client deliverables with regular supervision from team lead.
- Prepare and review solution options with team lead to solve tough challenges.
- Be a good teammate to the client and the delivery team, encouraging and enabling teammates to be their best selves.
- Maintain positive relationships with the client.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 1 year of relevant experience.
- An additional 2 years of experience with an Associate's Degree.
- An additional 4 years of experience with a high school diploma.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Strong attention to detail with proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Can easily shift focus between high priority tasks as required.
- Demonstrates leadership in the face of ambiguity, rather than waiting for direction from above.
- Navigates through challenges to consistently get things over the finish line.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications Or Skills
- Experience with the VA VALERI application.
- Experience with SQL queries in an Oracle Database environment.
- Existing Public Trust clearance at the Department of Veterans Affairs or other federal agency.
- In depth knowledge of the mortgage industry.
- Experience testing Salesforce and/or AWS solutions for the federal government or Department of Veterans Affairs specifically.
- Experience using JIRA, including JIRA X-Ray plugin, and Confluence.

- Hours: 40 hours/week with availability during core business hours of 8am-5pm ET

- Eligibility: Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance
- Salary: $40,000-$80,000
