We are seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to join the firm. The IT Cloud Platform Engineer is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software related to the firm’s cloud infrastructure. This individual is responsible for the administration, troubleshooting, and provisioning of the Microsoft Azure tenants that are in use. In addition to these core responsibilities, the Cloud Platform Engineer’s responsibilities include working with Network and Security teams to provide the correct configuration for the systems this position is responsible for. Candidates must be self-starters who possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing the highest quality client service are strongly recommended.

Essential Duties

  • The daily make up of tasks can change depending on department priorities.
  • Provides third level technical support for cloud operations to the global service desk, IT application/operations teams, project teams, and various administrative or legal teams.
  • Provides system administration, support and helps improve the manageability and effectiveness of the firm’s global cloud environment.
  • Remain current on industry developments, best practices, and recommendations, by communicating with peers, vendors and industry experts.
  • Adheres to privacy, legal, security policies and firm standards.
  • Assess risks and impacts arising from a business disruption and make decisions and determine actions independently and expediently to eliminate those risks and ensure the continuity of business.
  • Understanding of firm and industry best practices and business requirements in order to gather data for analysis by conducting interview and independent research.
  • Ensure that systems achieve 100% uptime 24/7/365 operational availability.
  • Responsible for writing Powershell scripts to improve performance, resolve issues and automate processes.
  • Adherence to the firm’s change management policy. Represent team changes in weekly Change Advisory Board meetings to answer questions from the broader team in regards to scope, impact, and timing.
  • Analyzing, planning, testing, and implementation of Active Directory and Windows server and storage infrastructure
  • Act as a resource to support all technical projects assigned by the Technical Services group
  • Performing root cause analysis on systems issues and determine recommended solutions to resolve problems.
  • Determine and decide when to escalate problems to vendors and ensuring resolution and reporting of resolution to stakeholders.
  • Test and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery solutions, processes and procedures as requested.
  • Maintaining documentation of processes, procedures, troubleshooting guides and change management logs.
  • Flexible to work outside of normal business hours as required.

Experience Skills Required

  • One (1) or more years experience with hands-on administrative and troubleshooting activity for Microsoft Azure
  • One (1) or more years of Microsoft technology experience including m365 (formerly known as O365).
  • Three (3) or more years of Microsoft Windows Server Administration.
  • Team player that works well in a team environment but can also work independently as needed.
  • Programming/Scripting experience with Microsoft PowerShell.
  • Microsoft Windows 10 Operating System - macOS is not required but considered a plus
  • Strong planning and analysis skills
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Advanced understanding of basic networking concepts
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and adapt to changing business priorities.
  • Ability to grasp new technology concepts quickly.
  • Ability to work on an on-call rotation, support 24/7 environment and work flexible hours as needed.
  • This job operates in an office setting and is largely sedentary, requiring the routine use of a computer and other standard office equipment.
  • The ability to lift/move computer equipment may be required.

Compensation Salary $98,000 - $183,000

The compensation salary for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors.
