This is a hybrid role based in our new Dallas infrastructure hub where we work on the latest technologies in a cutting-edge environment.


The Role

The DevSecOps team operates within the Software Engineering Services function at G-Research and is responsible for security tooling within DevSecOps.


As a Software Engineer in our SES function, you will explore, learn, recommend and adopt technologies depending on the problem at hand. You will take a user centric approach to all design and decision-making processes, and have the ability to work with a high level of trust, autonomy, and agility.


Key responsibilities:

  • Developing an API (front end and back end) to interconnect systems and applications
  • Designing, developing, and enhancing development platforms to provide a seamless and intuitive user experience
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including software engineering, operations, Infrastructure and security
  • Backend and frontend software development
  • Optimizing and troubleshooting software performance
  • Supporting applications and customers and participating in the team’s support rotation


Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Extensive experience developing APIs in C#
  • A user-centric mindset, with deep understanding and empathy for users
  • Object-oriented programming and strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Event Driven Architecture, and familiarity (or willingness to learn) working with Kubernetes and containers
  • Use of operational / runtime tools and practices, including monitoring and logging with systems such as Prometheus and Grafana
  • Experience working with source code management and dependency management tools, such as GitHub and Artifactory
  • Experience working with CI/CD Pipelines, such as Jenkins, or ArgoCD
  • Ability to be productive in an environment with a high level of autonomy and agility
  • A strong desire to continually learn new technologies, approaches and systems
  • Willingness to learn by working with users across different business areas, experiences and cultures to drive towards the best outcome for the organization
  • A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, performance bottlenecks, and process improvements
  • The ability to understand the inherent trade-offs between various software architectures as it relates to performance, resiliency, fault tolerance, load balancing, and data consistency
