Junior Mechanical Engineer

About us

Our client is an early-stage startup funded by leading European VCs with the mission to build advanced small Unmanned Autonomous Vehicles (UAVs) to strengthen European sovereignty and security. Our focus is on UAV platforms and ground control systems, with plans to expand into maritime, ground, and multi-domain defence systems.

We’re looking for a mechanically minded engineer who loves turning ideas into reality. You’ll design, build, and refine mechanical systems - from drones to production-ready parts - blending solid engineering principles with practical problem-solving.

You are:

• Already located at, or willing to relocate to the Munich area.
• A graduate or early-career engineer (0–4 years) with a bachelor’s or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Curious, practical, and eager to build, test, and iterate
• Comfortable switching between design software and hands-on bench work

Must-have:

• A project example in your application that shows problem-solving and pragmatism (tell us what you built, why, and what you learned)
• CAD design skills
• Practical experience with 3D printing
• Soldering and hands-on assembly
• The candidate must be eligible to obtain a NATO security clearance.

Would be great:

• SolidWorks proficiency
• UAV piloting skills
• Experience with PX4 or other drone control stacks
• Deeper 3D printing know-how (materials, optimisation, troubleshooting)
• Exposure to plastic injection moulding and DFM/DFA principles
