Job Description

The candidate will perform network engineering activities supporting all phases of systems development in the areas of Network Engineering

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Support the design and implementation of network architecture
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance of the different Network IOS
  • Identify Comms requirements, hardware, performance, and interoperability.
  • Work on multiple simultaneous tasks
  • Perform routine network administration tasks as needed
  • Administrate IP based radio networks
  • Interface with NGMS

This position may be filled as a (Level 3) Principal Computer Systems Architect or as a (Level 4) Sr Principal Computer Systems Architect

Basic Qualifications

  • Principal Computer Systems Architect (Level 3): Bachelor of Science (BS) STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 5 years of experience; or 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters (MS) degree; 1 Year with PhD or additional years in lieu of a degree
  • Sr Principal Computer Systems Architect (Level 4): Bachelor of Science (BS) STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 8 years of experience; or 6 years of relevant experience with a Masters (MS) degree; 4 years with a PhD; or additional years in lieu of a degree
  • DoD 8570 Security certification such as Sec+, CASP, CISSP, or equivalent.
  • Candidate must be able to establish communication between network devices, interfaces, and protocols.
  • Candidate must have experience with IP based radios and networks.
  • Good understanding of IP4 and IPv6 network design, including IP subnetting and protocols including BGP, OSPF and EIGRP
  • Identify Comms requirements, hardware, performance, and interoperability.
  • CLEARANCE: Candidate must currently have, and be able to maintain an active U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance with a background investigation date within 5 Years

Preferred Qualifications

  • A professional certification specific to the networking industry i.e. CCNA/CCNP/CCIE or equivalent.
  • Previous experience with military COMSEC/CRYPTO equipment and procedures (Viasat/GD)
  • Expert understanding of advanced features like GRE, IPSEC, IP quality-of-service, VLANs, and multicast.

Primary Level Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $158,000.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $118,600.00 - $196,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
