The Role: HR Recruiter (Volunteer, Part-Time) 

We are looking for a mission-aligned Volunteer Recruiter to help us grow our volunteer and staff team by leading candidate outreach, screening, and selection processes. This role is ideal for someone who is energized by connecting people with purpose, enjoys building fair and inclusive hiring systems, and wants to contribute to youth equity through the foundation of a well-staffed, values-driven organization. Empower the future by helping us attract and place the right people to build it. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

You will work closely with the HR Manager (your direct manager) to execute and improve our recruitment processes: 

  1. Drafting and posting role descriptions across job boards, networks, and community channels 
  2. Screening applications and conducting initial candidate outreach and interviews to assess alignment with Cloud100’s values, skills needs, and mission 
  3. Coordinating candidate workflows, including scheduling interviews, tracking progress, and maintaining clear communication with applicants 
  4. Supporting selection processes by preparing candidate summaries, facilitating reference checks as needed, and ensuring fair and consistent practices 
  5. Partnering with the HR Manager to improve and streamline recruitment tools, templates, and processes that work for a distributed, part-time nonprofit team 
  6. Monitoring recruitment-related KPIs and recommending improvements for candidate engagement and experience 

 

Work Environment & Expectations 

  • Expectation of ~5 hours per week, flexible schedule  
  • Occasional team meetings within standard working hours (M–F, 9am to 6pm ET) 
  • Currently a volunteer position only 

 

Who You Are 

  • Experienced in HR or people-focused Recruiting  
  • Proficiency in sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates 
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple candidate workflows   
  • Tech-comfortable (ex. scheduling tools, candidate tracking systems) 
  • Clear communicator who values transparency, inclusion, and collaboration 
  • Familiar with small org/startup dynamics, especially in remote and distributed teams  
  • Experience working or volunteering for Non-Profit Organizations 
  • Passionate about equity, education, or youth development  
  • Bonus: Experience with AI tools and automating workflows 
  • Bonus: Experience with Microsoft tools (Teams, Planner, SharePoint)
