Role Overview
As an AI/ML Engineer Intern at PurpleMerit, you will design and implement intelligent agents, build RAG pipelines, develop MCP servers for enterprise data, and work on real-world, production-grade agentic AI projects. You’ll gain hands-on experience with advanced frameworks, scalable deployments, and cross-functional collaboration shaping the future of autonomous intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy autonomous multi-agent systems with dynamic task management, reasoning, and A2A communication.
- Build RAG pipelines, agent memory systems, and context engineering solutions for domain-specific use cases.
- Develop workflows using LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel, n8n, and related orchestration tools to build modular and scalable AI agents.
- Integrate generative AI frameworks
- Design and develop agentic AI systems with autonomous task execution capabilities.
- Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) with reasoning, planning, and interaction frameworks.
- Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures using vector databases
- Build and manage MCP servers/clients with JSON-RPC 2.0, HTTP, WebSocket, and other transport layers.
- Fine-tune LLMs/SLMs with LoRA, quantization, and tokenizer customization.
- Work with databases (SQL/NoSQL, FAISS, Pinecone) and data analysis libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Seaborn, Plotly).
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong Python development skills with scalable, testable code practices.
- RAG Architecture: Deep understanding of retrieval-based generation pipelines.
- Deployment: Experience deploying applications on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or containerized environments.
- Experience or interest in MLOps (MLflow, W&B), containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
Internship & Full Time Salary Structure
- Duration: 4 months internship (remote)
- Stipend: ₹8,000 per month during internship
- Conversion: Upon successful internship completion, full-time salary range of ₹3 LPA to ₹9 LPA will be offered based on performance, leadership, and technical skills demonstrated.
- Note: There is no direct full-time hiring; only internship-to-full-time conversion is available.
Things to Keep in Mind
- Fixed work hours: Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM – 6:30 PM IST.
- Freelancing or other external paid work during the internship is prohibited and may lead to termination.
- Strong remote communication skills and experience working in distributed teams are essential.
- Completion of the full 5-month internship is mandatory for consideration for full-time roles.
