Job Summary

In this fully remote role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the security, reliability, and efficiency of database systems, while collaborating with a dedicated team that values strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, monitor, and optimize database systems to ensure high levels of performance and availability.
- Implement robust backup, recovery, and failover procedures to safeguard data.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to deploy new database solutions and troubleshoot issues.
- Automate routine maintenance tasks and proactively identify areas for process improvement.
- Ensure database security by implementing access controls, encryption, and compliance measures.
- Conduct regular database audits and generate detailed reports for management.
- Document database configurations and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing within the team.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator, supporting mission-critical database environments.
- Expertise with relational database management systems such as SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Strong knowledge of database security, backup, and recovery best practices.
- Ability to analyze performance bottlenecks and implement optimization strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail and clarity.
- Comfortable working in a remote, distributed team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL).
- Familiarity with automation and configuration management tools.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or similar.
