Lead Software Engineer [Maps - OSM - Riyadh] in UNITED KINGDOM

Our client, an exciting tech start-up in Riyadh, is looking to hire senior & lead back-end engineers with experience with Open Street Maps. [Google / Apple Maps]

**This role requires relocation to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia**

You will be working closely with the exec and product teams to identify problems & opportunities and leverage tech solutions to serve our customers and business better. You will guide your engineering leads and their respective teams to scope, validate, build, deploy, and maintain the solutions that will realize these opportunities. We are looking for candidates who dream big, get things done, and are equipped for the start-up hustle.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, creation, and scaling of core systems used to power our transactions.
• Creatively solve challenging technical problems at scale.
• Experience in both backend and frontend development, including REST and GraphQL frameworks
• Familiar with core Kubernetes concepts and principles
• Independently learns new technologies, quickly ramps up, investigates issues, and actively seeks solutions
• Partner closely with product managers, data scientists, product engineers, and business leads to define our roadmap
• Contributing to the growth of our development capabilities through leading, mentoring and supporting fellow engineers

Your experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding languages including, but not limited to, GO, Python, etc
• Experience with OpenStreetMap and geocoding would be highly desirable.
• Enthusiasm, curiosity, energy, perseverance, and the desire to solve big problems
• Ability to work in a results-oriented, rapidly changing, dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires collaboration across multiple stakeholders
