Recruiting Manager – Data Center Construction (Power Generation, Electrical Contracting Engineering, Semiconductor Industry) - a MUST!!
Richmond Virginia (with monthly local travel to HQ and project sites) or Washington DC – Baltimore – Northern Virginia Area | Onsite | Relocation Available!
We’re looking for a high-energy Recruiting Manager to lead high level/senior leadership hiring for one of the nation’s fastest-growing engineering & construction business units. This role is mission-critical — driving workforce growth for large-scale, complex infrastructure projects including data centers, hospitals, airports, and secure government facilities.
Corporate Recruiting Manager (Power Generation, Electrical Contracting Engineering, Semiconductor Industry)
Why This Role?
- High-visibility role supporting the company’s largest, highest-revenue division
- Direct succession path — 1 level below Director of Talent Acquisition, with promotion potential in 2–3 years
- Work in a recession-resistant, rapidly growing sector: data centers & critical infrastructure
- Lead & produce: manage a strong team of recruiters while still recruiting at the highest levels
- Gain exposure at the executive and project level across major AEC firms
What You’ll Do
- Lead recruitment strategy for engineering, electrical/power infrastructure, project management, and superintendent roles on complex, mission-critical construction projects
- Manage a team of 4 recruiters (10+ years' experience each) while operating as a producing manager
- Partner with senior leadership in monthly workforce planning and deliver regular talent reports
- Drive staffing for large-scale projects: data centers, hospitals, airports, secure government facilities, and utilities
- Attract, engage, and convert talent from adjacent industries (power generation, hydro dams, electrical power infrastructure) into data center construction careers
Technical Proficiency You’ll Need (to recruit effectively)
- Electrical Power Infrastructure: medium-voltage switchgear, UPS systems, generators, grounding & bonding, dual-path distribution, paralleling switchgear, ATS systems
- Data Center Environments: high-density power, redundancy/uptime requirements, white space planning, busways, PDUs, branch circuits
- Mission-Critical Construction: mechanical/electrical contractors, AEC firms, large-scale infrastructure builds
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years in recruiting/talent acquisition, with hands-on hiring for electrical power, utility, or data center infrastructure roles
- 3+ years in a leadership role: managing recruiters while delivering personally on senior requisitions
- Strong record hiring engineers, project managers, superintendents, and senior leaders in power/critical infrastructure
- Not solely “title-driven” - proven ability to produce results and build pipelines at scale
- High EQ, presence with executives, ability to influence at all levels
Compensation & Benefits
- $150,000 – $180,000 (MAX!) base salary
- Bonus program: merit-based (2–6%), plus discretionary awards ($10K+ possible, tied to business division & company performance)
- 3 weeks PTO to start (4 weeks after 10 years)
- Full stellar benefits package + 401k with immediate vesting
- Relocation assistance available (to Richmond or DC Metro)
- Start ASAP in a career-defining role
The Growth Opportunity!!
Step into a succession-proof industry with a chance to transition from utilities and power into the rapidly expanding data center and critical infrastructure sector. In this role, you’ll partner directly with senior leadership, lead a seasoned recruiting team, and build the workforce behind some of the world’s most advanced facilities.
This is a career-defining role for a recruiting leader who excels in high-volume, high-stakes technical hiring. If you’re passionate about driving the talent strategy for complex, mission-critical engineering projects, we want to hear from you.
