Rogue Talent is hiring a Lead Security Researcher to lead an Offensive Cyber Capabilities & Operations (OCO/OCC) program for a prestigious cyber R&D institution. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in reverse engineering, capability development & operations specific to cyber-physical in the DoD and/or intelligence community. This elite organization specializes in cyber-physical red teaming and AI-enabled systems (from embedded to RF) for the defense and security of the US.


  • Develop and implement novel cyber capabilities on unconventional devices and networks.
  • Test and evaluate cyber capabilities and concepts for operational suitability and survivability.
  • Work with DoD processes including acquisition, planning, and operations.
  • Focus on the big picture while taking appropriate low-level technical details into account.
  • Explain highly technical concepts succinctly to senior, often non-technical audiences.
  • Direct individual and team research efforts and lead/mentor multidisciplinary teams to achieve cyber research project goals.


Qualifications:


  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related discipline and 7+ years of formal, related experience; or MS + 3 years, or Ph.D + 1 year of practical experience.
  • Ability and willingness to achieve and maintain a Top Secret clearance (US citizen).
  • Proficiency in high-level (Python) and low-level (C) programming languages, as well as OS kernel and/or driver development.
  • Expertise in a variety of deep security tools (Ghidra, IDA Pro, BinJa, WinDbg), fuzzers, and emulators.
  • Familiarity with computer network operations, both offensive and defensive.
  • Experience with binary and/or embedded reverse engineering and exploitation.
