You’ll join as the most senior engineer in the business, leading a talented team of 7 and working side-by-side with a technical founder. This isn’t a process-heavy management role - it’s for someone who enjoys leading from the front, still shipping features into production, and setting technical direction while staying close to the code.

And here’s what makes it different: there are no product managers. Engineers own not just the technical side, but also product and roadmap decisions. You’ll work directly with customers, shape features from first principles, and build in a culture where ideas and ownership sit with the people closest to the code.

As Head of Engineering, you will:

• Build hands-on, shipping, reviewing, and understanding the system at depth
• Own technical strategy, from architecture to infrastructure and delivery
• Shape the engineering culture - hiring, mentoring, and driving sustainable velocity
• Partner directly with a product-first CEO and technical co-founder who care deeply about quality and pace
• Lay the foundations for how this engineering organisation scales, influencing both code and decision-making

Tech stack

• Backend: Python, Golang, Postgres, Kafka, Redis, BigQuery
• Frontend: React, Next.js 14, TypeScript
• Cloud: AWS, Vercel

What they’re looking for

• A Senior+ Engineer with team leadership experience (Tech Lead or EM background)
• Strong fullstack grounding - React/TypeScript on the frontend and Go on the backend (or willingness to learn fast)
• Track record of architectural ownership, high-quality delivery, and mentoring engineers

They are paying upto £140,000 for this Head of Engineering role, plus meaningful equity and other great benefits (VISA sponsorship also available).

This is a hybrid role, 3/days a week in their Central London office.
