Sr. Software Engineer (FullStack)

The Opportunity

We’re an Engineering and Product team of ten -and growing! Reporting to our head of engineering, we are looking for full-stack/frontend-leaning engineers to join us. This is a great opportunity to be a foundational member of our technical team with significant opportunities for professional growth.

Our tech stack is React, React Native, NodeJS, NestJS TypeScript, SQL, AWS, Docker, and AWS cdk. We are a Google Suite, Jira, Slack, and Notion shop for internal collaboration.

As a core member of our collaborative and product-focused technical team, you’ll contribute to Allara’s patient, provider, and developer experience. Our ideal new teammate is someone who balances a well-rounded technical skill set with being mission-driven. We look for “helpers” across all functions as we scale, people with an affinity for helping patients solve complex health challenges through technology. We are also looking for folks with experience building and iterating quickly, collaborating cross-functionally with product/design/other stakeholders, and who are comfortable with infrastructure and developer tools.

Location: Hybrid SoHo office in NYC at least three days a week (Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday) with flexibility as needed OR Remote (U.S).

Your Impact

• Collaborate with product and design teammates to deliver patient and provider-facing features for our care delivery platform.
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, performant, and reliable systems that you and other technical users will leverage.
• Support code quality and maintainability through code reviews, automated testing, and documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement in our engineering practices, including code quality, deployment processes, and incident response.
• You'll have the opportunity to experiment, learn, and grow as we continuously improve our platform
• Investigate platform bugs and incidents.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in professional software engineering (5+ years) and a passion for building impactful solutions, ideally over several years of critical product delivery.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality code in a fast-paced environment
• Expertise with modern web development frameworks
• Exposure to containerized deployments (AWS ECS, GKE, Docker)
• Experience in full-stack web development
• Comfortable with APM, Monitoring, and Alerting systems such as Datadog, New Relic, or AppDynamics
• Excited to work across all layers of a platform, diving into whatever is needed
• Excellent collaborator and communicator, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and other engineers
• An independent thinker who isn’t afraid to voice ideas, challenge assumptions, and drive improvements that benefit the team and product.

• Experience in regulated industries, including healthcare, financial services, or similar

At Allara, we offer competitive compensation tailored to geographic locations. Below are the base salary ranges by zone for this role.

• Zone 1 (New York City, San Francisco, Seattle) $164,610 - $192,045
• Zone 2 (Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Boston) $156,380 - $182,443
• Zone 3 (Chicago, Denver, Austin, Philadelphia, Miami) $148,149 - $172,840
• Zone 4 (Atlanta, Phoenix, Dallas) $139,918 - $163,238

Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to: candidate experience, education, certifications, and skill set.
