Job Title: Senior Data Architect – Cloud & Financial Services
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week)
Contract: 12 months (long-term, renewable)
Eligibility: Candidates must be local to Chicago before start date (relocation is acceptable).
About The Role
We are seeking a
Senior Data Architect to lead the design and build of a modern, cloud-based data platform. This role is a mix of
architecture design and hands-on development—perfect for someone who can bridge technical leadership with practical implementation.
You will join a high-impact digital transformation program focused on
Azure, Snowflake, and Databricks, enabling advanced data solutions for financial services.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and design cloud-based data solutions (data pipelines, data storage, and data mesh approaches).
- Work directly with business teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable, enterprise-grade solutions.
- Build and guide data pipelines, APIs, and integration frameworks.
- Balance 50% architecture and 50% coding responsibilities.
- Lead POCs and reusable component development for data delivery.
- Ensure performance, scalability, and compliance standards are met.
Must-Have Skills
- Senior-level Data Architecture experience (cloud-first systems).
- Snowflake expertise (design, optimization, performance tuning).
- SQL mastery (strong, hands-on coding skills).
- API development experience (data consumption layers).
- Financial services / asset management domain knowledge.
- Hands-on Databricks and Kafka experience is highly preferred.
- Spring Boot & Kubernetes knowledge is a plus.
