Job Title: Network Engineer

Location: Fully Remote

Duration: Until 6/2026 with extensions

Pay Rate: $53-55/hr

Must-Haves:

  • 4-5 years of professional experience as a Network Engineer in an enterprise datacenter setting.
  • Networking Protocols:
  • In-depth knowledge of IP routing protocols, including BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.
  • Hands-on experience with data center technologies such as VXLAN and EVPN.
  • AWS Cloud Networking Infrastructure:
  • Mandatory hands-on experience designing and managing network infrastructure in a public cloud environment, specifically AWS using Terraform.
  • Proficiency with AWS networking services, including VPC, Transit Gateway, and Direct Connect.
  • Hardware Platforms:
  • Proven experience with Cisco Nexus switches (e.g., 7000/7700 series) is highly desirable.
  • Application Delivery & Security:
  • Solid experience with load balancers (F5 BIG-IP, AVI/NSX ALB).
  • Hands-on experience with network firewalls (Palo Alto Networks preferred).
  • Professionalism:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Certifications:
  • CCNP Enterprise (or equivalent certification in Routing & Switching) is required.

Plusses:

  • CCIE certification (any track).
  • Experience with network automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible, Terraform).
  • Knowledge of scripting and APIs for network configuration and management.
  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty).

Day-to-Day:

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to work fully remote. This role is ideal for a candidate with deep expertise in routing and switching, datacenter architecture, and network security and AWS Cloud Network Infrastructure. You will be part of a specialized team responsible for designing, deploying, and troubleshooting complex network environments across multiple datacenters. This includes analyzing and optimizing traffic flows, assessing infrastructure capacity, and deploying network accounts within the AWS cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement AWS networking components including VPCs, Transit Gateways, and Direct Connect using Terraform for infrastructure automation and scalability.
  • Serve as a routing & switching SME, managing design, deployment, and troubleshooting across datacenters using BGP and OSPF.
  • Lead greenfield datacenter buildouts to support workload migrations.
  • Redesign datacenter core and edge architecture using Catalyst 8500 routers and Nexus 9k switches.
  • Deploy VXLAN EVPN fabric for datacenter migrations.
  • Configure security and NAT policies, and establish IPsec tunnels on Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Perform code upgrades on routers and switches with minimal service disruption.
  • Create high-level and low-level design documentation using Lucidchart.
  • Develop patch plans and collaborate with DC Engineering on cabling and physical layer troubleshooting.
  • Decommission obsolete network equipment in datacenters.
