Hadrian — Manufacturing the Future
Hadrian is building autonomous factories that help aerospace and defense companies manufacture rockets, satellites, jets, and ships up to 10x faster and up to 2x cheaper. By combining advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing, we are reinventing how America produces its most critical parts.
We recently raised $260 million dollar Series C to accelerate this mission. We are excited to be launching a new Factory in Mesa, Arizona, a 270,000 square foot facility that will create 350 new jobs immediately. We are opening a new headquarters to support thousands of future hires, launching Hadrian Maritime to serve naval production, and introducing a Factory-as-a-Service model that delivers complete systems instead of individual parts.
Hadrian works with startups, Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, and major defense contractors across space, shipbuilding, and aviation to scale production, reduce costs, and accelerate delivery on mission-critical programs. We are backed by leading investors including Lux Capital, Founders Fund, and Andreessen Horowitz. Our fast-growing team is united by a shared mission to reindustrialize American manufacturing for the 21st century and beyond!
The Role
In this role you'll build the infrastructure powering the future of automated manufacturing. As an Infrastructure/DevOps Engineer, you'll work hands-on with cutting-edge cloud technologies, Kubernetes, and edge computing to enable AI-driven factories. You'll automate everything from AWS infrastructure to IoT device deployments, create robust CI/CD pipelines, and ensure our systems scale reliably across multiple manufacturing sites. This role offers deep technical challenges, from real-time data pipelines to edge Kubernetes clusters, all while directly impacting how we revolutionize manufacturing.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement AWS infrastructure using Terraform for multi-region deployments
- Deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters (EKS) with production workloads
- Build CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions/GitLab for 50+ repositories
- Implement GitOps workflows with ArgoCD for automated deployments
- Configure site-to-site networking with VPN and AWS Direct Connect
- Deploy edge Kubernetes clusters for factory floor computing
- Automate IoT device provisioning and configuration management
- Build monitoring dashboards and alerting with Prometheus/Grafana
- Implement infrastructure security best practices and compliance controls
- Write automation scripts in Python/Go for operational tasks
- Participate in on-call rotation and incident response
- Document infrastructure patterns and runbooks
- Collaborate with software teams on application deployment strategies
- Optimize cloud costs and resource utilization
- Support manufacturing systems with real-time requirements
What We're Looking For
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services and best practices
- Proficient with Kubernetes operations and troubleshooting
- Expert-level Terraform skills with module development experience
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Go, or Bash
- Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, routing)
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools
- Git proficiency and understanding of GitOps principles
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
- Experience with configuration management and automation
- Understanding of security best practices and compliance
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and drive projects to completion
- Manufacturing or IoT experience preferred
- Experience with service mesh (Istio, Linkerd)
Compensation
For this role, the target salary range is $160,000 - $200,000 (actual range may vary based on experience).
This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.
