General position summary:

Suddath Workplace Solutions is seeking a strategic and visionary Director of Business Intelligence to lead the enterprise-wide reporting and analytics function. This role is responsible for the overall strategy, consistency, compliance, design, and analysis of all reporting across the organization—including financial, accounting, HR, operations, sales, customer service, billing, collections, and more.

As the commercial relocation vertical of a global transportation and logistics company, Suddath Workplace Solutions delivers complex services such as office, hotel, hospital, and warehouse moves, technology consulting, furniture design and procurement, and medical facility outfitting and transition services. The Director of BI will play a critical role in enabling data-driven decision-making across these diverse service lines.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive BI strategy aligned with business goals and growth initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of data literacy and evidence-based decision-making across all departments.
  • Lead and mentor a team of BI analysts and developers.
  • Research, bring forward, and be a thought leader in global workplace trends.
  • Establish and maintain data governance frameworks and reporting standards.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, industry regulations, and data privacy laws.
  • Design and deliver consistent, accurate, and timely reporting across all business functions.
  • Work with teams to monitor and report on performance against KPIs and SLAs.
  • Provide actionable insights through advanced analytics, forecasting, and performance dashboards.
  • Translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives for executive leadership and customer presentations.

Job Skills Required:

  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of BI tools and platforms.
  • Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to ensure robust, scalable data architecture.
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to gather requirements for new software systems and tools.
  • Lead or support the evaluation, selection, and rationalization of software platforms used across the organization.
  • Ensure BI and reporting needs are considered in all technology decisions, including ERP, CRM, HRIS, and operational systems.
  • Partner with leaders in Finance, HR, Sales, Operations, Customer Experience, and Service Delivery to understand reporting needs and drive alignment.
  • Support strategic initiatives such as market expansion, service innovation, and operational efficiency through data insights.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data strategy, preferably in service-based or logistics environments.
  • Proven leadership experience in a multi-functional, enterprise-wide BI role.
  • Expertise in BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and data warehousing.
  • Strong understanding of financial, operational, and HR metrics.
  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement skills; ability to communicate equally well with technical teams and stakeholders alike.
  • Background in commercial relocation, logistics, or workplace solutions is a plus.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Operations:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to learn and effectively use software applications such as move management, accounting/billing, HRIS (Human Resources Information System), timekeeping and other applications used in the performance of job duties.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS)
  • Familiarity with SQL, Python, and similar data analysis tools.
  • Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or change management methodologies.

Planning/Organization:

  • Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize as situations and needs change throughout the workday
  • Ability to multi-task and organize workflow to manage daily responsibilities, meet deadlines and prioritize work

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:

  • Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or change management methodologies.
