Your challenge:
- As a Backend Software Engineer, you will play a decisive role in the further development of Taxfix's core services. You will help us to build and maintain the scalable, reliable, and user-friendly technology that enables us to make tax filing easier for millions of people.
- You will work closely with our Product Managers, Tax Experts, Data Engineers, Architects and other teams to design and implement new features, and to improve the performance and reliability of our existing systems. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate on exciting new projects.

Your team:
People in the Tax Core team are responsible for the technology that sits in the center of our product. Our services are helping to translate the enormously complex German tax law into a clean and simple application that our customers love.
Your responsibilities and decisions:
- Take ownership for complex technical challenges aligned with the team and the overall technical roadmap.
- Play a key role in building a scalable, future-oriented architecture and infrastructure.
- You have a supportive and mentoring attitude and love to work with the team to grow your skills and theirs.
- Spreading the functionality of our platform & collaborate with our internal clients.
- Collaborating with the team and partnering with the Product Manager and Engineering Manager on new features.
- Continuously improving as a team our already strong team culture that cultivates a collaborative, transparent and inclusive work environment.
Your profile:
- You have at least 5 years of experience in developing software - experience in a Platform team with on-call would be a plus.
- You have experience in working with Golang, additionally having experience in JavaScript is a big plus.
- High scale platforms architecture and development experience would be very nice - you worked on complex backend services.
- Enjoying writing maintainable and elegant code, and you know how to establish and maintain good engineering practices in the team.
- You are familiar with agile practices and how to apply and improve them in building complex software products in an iterative way.
- Understanding of DevOps culture, and you have experience implementing automation pipelines to continuously deliver well tested software.
- You are a pragmatic person with a strong positive attitude, and you can work autonomously and overcome challenges with passion.
