WAGE STATUS


Exempt “salary status”. Salary $65,000-$70,000, along with additional compensation tied to performance.


POSITION SUMMARY


Destination Rogers is the official Destination Marketing Organization for the city of Rogers. We believe that “it all starts with a visit” and are committed to strengthening our community by creating economic opportunities through tourism.


This position is focused on hotel and convention center sales, promoting Rogers to meeting planners for conventions, meetings, and tradeshows. Responsibilities include lead generation, securing convention bookings, and delivering convention services. We are looking for someone with at least 5 years of hospitality sales experience, preferably in a DMO.


While this role will not initially involve direct management of the sales team, it is expected to evolve into a leadership position after training and demonstrated success.


DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITES

  • Produces leads and bookings for Rogers hotels based on annual goals.
  • Providing excellent customer service post-sale through fulfillment of convention services.
  • Be the destination expert on all things Rogers & Northwest Arkansas for clients.
  • Plans and coordinates direct sales calls, site inspections and familiarization tours.
  • Travel overnight to attend tradeshows and industry events to promote Rogers as a convention destination.
  • Assists in the development of the annual budget and marketing plan.
  • Prospects, develops, and initiates new accounts through MINT and other sources.
  • Keeps accurate and up to date files on all groups that have or may utilize Rogers meeting facilities.
  • Administers Simpleview CRM reporting and SOPs
  • Maintains close working relationships with area hotels, convention center, venues and serves as a liaison between the client and these facilities.
  • Works closely with RLC marketing department on meetings website, collateral, and other projects as assigned.
  • Performs any other duties assigned by the VP of Sales or Executive Director.
