Automation Control Engineer in United State

Our client is currently seeking an Engineering Controls Technician to support their North American Operations. This is a fully remote opportunity with 50-60% travel, mostly in the central and eastern U.S. The Engineering Controls Tech will assist with implementing, maintaining, and supporting (24x7) the OT/ICS infrastructure. They are responsible for ensuring that equipment comprising the Industrial Control System are properly maintained and functioning to current safety and cyber security standards by performing basic OT network switch configuration, vlan schema, IP Address assignment, PLC and HMI troubleshooting, installing PLC and IO cards, addressing DCS hardware, performing PLC, DCS, and HMI programming. They support capital projects by providing networking, automation, and process control technical expertise. As they perform these functions, Technicians must also be able to work with other departments and external parties to maintain plant functionality.

This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Support OT Network and ICS automation & process control systems of manufacturing plants in North America. Requires demonstrated knowledge of Networking, Vlan, IP Addressing, Switch Configuration, Siemens PCS7, WinCC, Rockwell ControlLogix, SLC, PLC5, FactoryTalk View, and AutoCAD
• Support capital projects being led by Process, Packaging, and/or plant engineers that have electrical or automation & process control components within their project scopes.
• Support data collection, I4.0 migrations, OT networks, and cyber security initiatives.
• Provide subject matter expertise while assisting third party controls systems support across domestic sites.
• Develop and maintain 5-year ICS automation & process control equipment plans for remediating obsolescence in North American plants
• Obtain continuous learning and stay abreast of industry trends
• Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.
• Ability to travel up to 60%

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical/Electronics Technology, Instrumentation Technology or Mechatronics
• 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing supporting Controls Systems
• Proficient with Siemens PCS7 with WinCC, Simatic Batch and Route Control
• Proficient with Rockwell PLC's and software
• Industrial Control System Networks, Profinet, Ethernet IP, AS-I, IO Link
• Working knowledge of OT Networking, switches, vlans, and IP Addressing
