Expert Network Architect / Consultant (Palo Alto)

Job Description

The Network Architect would take a leading role as part of a migration project from SD-WAN to Palo Alto.

Responsibilities Include

• Lead the architectural design and implementation of the migration from the existing SD-WAN solution to Palo Alto technologies.
• Define and document the target network architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
• Collaborate closely with network engineering, security, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Provide expert-level troubleshooting, configuration guidance, and migration strategy.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security and networking standards throughout the project lifecycle-
  
  

About The Customer

This is an initial contract running for 6 months with possibility to extend due to project roadmaps. The contractor can work fully remote (so long as the contractor lives in Switzerland) with occasional work trips to Basel.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will possess as many of the following skills as possible:

• Proven experience as a Network Architect in enterprise environments.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Palo Alto Networks, including SD-WAN, firewalls, routing, and security.
• Solid understanding of network design principles, BGP/OSPF, VPNs, and cloud connectivity.
• Demonstrated experience leading migration or transformation projects involving SD-WAN solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., PCNSE, CCNP/CCIE) are highly advantageous.
• Fluency in English (German advantageous).

Please note interviews would be conducted via video call (two stages), however the role is based 100% in Switzerland. Our client offers:
