Kubernetes DevOps Engineer
Location: Fully Remote – Within EU
Length: 2 year contract
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Kubernetes DevOps Engineer to ensure the operational health, security, and reliability of Kubernetes-based development and production environments. This role focuses on maintaining cluster infrastructure, addressing vulnerabilities, and enhancing CI/CD pipelines to enable the secure and efficient delivery of cloud-native applications. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and thrives in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, monitor, and upgrade Kubernetes clusters and associated infrastructure.
- Identify, remediate, and manage CVEs in container base images and application dependencies.
- Rebuild and redeploy container images as part of routine maintenance.
- Enhance and support CI/CD workflows for Kubernetes workloads, ensuring automation and reliability.
- Implement and automate security and compliance checks across environments.
- Collaborate with development teams to align platform updates with application lifecycles.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting production workloads.
- Document processes and maintain operational runbooks for reference and knowledge sharing.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture, operations, and best practices.
- Experience with container image management (Docker, BuildKit, etc.).
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, ArgoCD, Jenkins, or Concourse.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools including Helm, Kustomize, and Terraform.
- Proficient in scripting languages (Bash, Python, Go).
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
Optional / Desirable Skills:
- Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) or Administrator (CKA).
- Knowledge of Kubernetes security practices including Pod Security and Network Policies.
- Experience with service meshes such as Istio or Linkerd.
- Exposure to cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, OpenStack, or GCP.
- Contributions to open source or upstream Kubernetes projects.
