Thumo is developing a super-app for the African food delivery market. Following a $1.2M funding round led by Soma Capital, Sequoia Scout Fund, a16z Scout Fund, and top Silicon Valley angels, we are seeking a Lead Product Designer to oversee our product's overhaul and product design team as we enter new markets. This fully remote role is both managerial and hands-on, providing you with exposure to a fast-moving Silicon Valley startup while allowing you to work IST hours from anywhere in India.
What you'll do:
- Define and execute the end-to-end product design strategy for core product.
- Serve as principal design authority at Thumo, collaborating directly with C-suite to turn business objectives into an intuitive, enterprise-level product experience.
- Lead the architectural design of an innovative and optimized user interface for our mobile (iOS/Android) platforms, as well as website.
- Manage another product designer and the complete design process, from user research and conceptualization to the creation of scalable design systems and high-fidelity prototypes in Figma.
- Ideate user-centric design approach that addresses the specific needs of diverse cultural contexts within African markets.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7+ years experience in product design; proven history of launching successful, large-scale consumer applications.
- Demonstrated experience leading product design from initial concept through to market launch.
- Exceptional portfolio exhibiting strategic thinking, systems design, and advanced UX principles. Portfolios are required for consideration and must be sent to careers@thumo.app.
- Advanced proficiency with Figma.
- Significant experience in a senior design role at a leading food delivery, quick commerce, or super-app company (e.g., Swiggy, Zomato, Gojek, Grab, Zepto, Blinkit).
- Bonus: Experience designing for emerging markets or a technical background (HTML/CSS, prototyping).
The role:
- Compensation: $4,000-7,000+ per month; salary negotiable for top talent
- ≈ ₹3.55–6.21 lakh/month
- ≈ ₹42–74 LPA
- Full-time (40+ hrs/week)
