About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Enterprise Security Engineer to join our IT and Security teams. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing, managing, and enhancing the security infrastructure of OpenAI’s internal information systems. Your primary focus will be to develop robust security measures that protect our data assets against unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse, while ensuring compliance with security policies and industry best practices. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to harden our cloud and on-premises infrastructure, advise employees on security best practices, and contribute to our evolving security roadmap. This position offers flexibility for remote work, with relocation assistance available for candidates interested in joining our Seattle office.
Key responsibilities include monitoring security threats, responding to security alerts, developing security controls such as Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and employing advanced security models like zero trust and secure by default principles. The role also involves leveraging AI-driven security tools to enhance threat detection and response capabilities, educating staff on security protocols, and continuously improving our security posture to stay ahead of emerging threats.
Qualifications
- Experience managing macOS fleets and endpoint security solutions
- Proficiency with public cloud platforms such as Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure
- Strong understanding of identity and access management protocols including SAML, OAUTH, and SCIM
- Knowledge of email security protocols such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC
- Intermediate or advanced scripting skills in languages like Python or Bash
- Familiarity with modern adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures
- Experience deploying and managing endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and independently manage projects
- Understanding of security best practices in SaaS environments and infrastructure hardening
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement security measures to safeguard company information assets against unauthorized access or misuse
- Monitor internal and external systems for security threats and respond promptly to alerts
- Enforce and contribute to the development of IT and security policies and procedures
- Work with IT teams to harden infrastructure utilizing best practices across platforms like AzureAD, GSuite, Github, and other SaaS tools
- Advise employees on endpoint security, network infrastructure, and office AV systems to promote a security-aware culture
- Design and implement security controls such as DLP, intelligent group management, and sharing restrictions to protect sensitive data
- Apply advanced security frameworks like zero trust and secure by default to build sustainable security environments
- Identify vulnerabilities within internal systems and coordinate remediation efforts following data security best practices
- Leverage AI-driven models to enhance detection, response, and data classification processes
- Educate staff on security protocols, data protection, and safe computing practices
- Contribute to security roadmaps and stay informed on the latest threats and security innovations
