Forward Deployed Engineer – AI Infrastructure (Stealth Mode Startup)
Location: San Francisco or New York City (On-site, Hybrid, or Remote)
Compensation: $150K – $290K + equity

The Role
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you’ll work directly with customers to design, build, and launch high-scale AI applications in production. This is not a traditional back-office coding role — you’ll own the customer journey end-to-end, from scoping problems to deploying production-ready systems.
Think of it as a hybrid between software engineer, solutions architect, and product manager — with direct customer impact and technical ownership.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and deploy production-grade software systems, primarily using Python
- Partner with customer engineering teams to scope problems, design solutions, and bring AI apps into production
- Optimize AI/ML projects for speed, reliability, and cost efficiency
- Rapidly build PoCs and ship features with a bias toward action
- Own customer outcomes end-to-end, balancing engineering, product, and delivery
- Collaborate with internal product and research teams to help influence roadmap
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years professional software engineering experience in high-growth environments
- Strong hands-on coding experience in Python (production-level)
- Familiarity with AI/ML pipelines, inference, or deployment workflows
- Excellent communication skills — able to work directly with customers and translate technical topics clearly
- Bonus: prior experience in customer-facing engineering roles (solutions engineer, applied scientist, consulting engineer, etc.)
