About the Role


We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DDaT Lead Senior Executive Officer to join our Digital Services team, specializing in Infrastructure Engineering within the WebOps/DevOps domain. In this pivotal role, you will lead the development and implementation of DevOps strategies, ensuring the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performing digital services. You will oversee the operational aspects of our infrastructure, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service resilience and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive technical expertise, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This is a remote working opportunity, offering flexibility and the chance to make a significant impact on the digital transformation journey of Companies House.


Qualifications


  • Proven experience in DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or related roles within a digital environment
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Bash, Python)
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI)
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices
  • Experience in leading technical teams and managing stakeholder relationships
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator) are desirable
  • Security clearance or the ability to obtain one is essential


Responsibilities


  • Lead the development and execution of DevOps strategies to support digital service delivery
  • Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of cloud-based infrastructure and services
  • Collaborate with software development teams to implement automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code
  • Ensure the security, resilience, and high availability of all digital platforms
  • Manage incident response and participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize operational efficiency and service performance
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure configurations, procedures, and policies
  • Lead and mentor technical team members, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and governance frameworks
