This is a full-time, remote role open to candidates based in the EMEA region.
About the Role
As a Laravel Backend Developer, you will play a central role in building and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems. Working alongside a collaborative team of developers and product specialists, you will contribute to the full development lifecycle, from concept through to deployment, ensuring delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet business and user needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain robust backend applications using Laravel.
- Design and implement efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
- Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed, performance, and scalability.
- Build and manage APIs for seamless integrations with third-party services.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
- Ensure compliance with coding standards, security best practices, and software quality guidelines.
- Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning and code reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years of professional experience in backend development with Laravel.
- Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, and modern web technologies.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and integration best practices.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Familiarity with containerization tools (e.g., Docker) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) is an advantage.
- Knowledge of unit testing and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a passion for clean, efficient code.
- Fluency in English; additional EMEA languages are an asset.
