Job Description

Salary Range: $43,000 – $50,000 annually; DOE

The Digital Communications Coordinator plays a vital role in Access ASU’s outreach, engagement, and storytelling efforts. Reporting to the Associate Director of Marketing (EOSS), this position develops and distributes digital content across email, social media, and web platforms to engage K–12 students, families, educators, and community partners.

In addition to supporting Access ASU’s digital engagement strategy, the coordinator will contribute to strategic communications, marketing campaigns, and storytelling efforts across both print and digital media. This includes content development for newsletters, collateral, presentations, event promotions, and branded materials that elevate the Access ASU mission and increase awareness of its programs.

The coordinator will also supervise student workers who provide office management support for the Senior Vice President’s Office Annex and assist with EOSS Marketing projects as assigned.

Essential Duties

  • Build and deploy email campaigns in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including testing, list segmentation, and performance tracking
  • Create and schedule social media posts through Hootsuite and native platforms in collaboration with Access ASU program teams
  • Maintain and update Access ASU website content, ensuring alignment with ASU brand and accessibility standards
  • Collaborate with Access ASU staff and the EOSS Marketing Team to develop campaign messaging and project timelines
  • Write and edit articles and content for emails, newsletters, social media, web pages, event programs, and promotional materials
  • Support print communications, including flyers, brochures, posters, one-pagers, and presentation decks
  • Manage monthly newsletter production, including content planning, editing, design collaboration, and stakeholder approvals
  • Assist in writing and editing storytelling content, such as student success features, partner highlights, or ASU News submissions
  • Track campaign performance metrics and suggest improvements based on analytics and best practices
  • Capture and curate photos, stories, and testimonials at Access ASU events for promotional use
  • Assist in light graphic design tasks using Adobe Creative Suite and/or Google presentation tools as needed
  • Maintain organized digital files, assets, and content calendars
  • Stay informed on digital marketing trends and best practices in family engagement, K–12 communications, and student outreach
  • Support the creation of branded templates and email modules for recurring communications
  • Supervise student workers who provide office support for the Senior Vice President’s Office Annex and assist with EOSS Marketing projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of EOSS stakeholders

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in marketing and communications, preferably in education or nonprofit sectors
  • Experience using email marketing and social media planning tools; proficiency with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Hootsuite, and CMS platforms a plus
  • Strong writing and editing skills across formats and audiences (e.g., students, parents, educators)
  • Experience creating content for both digital and print formats
  • Working knowledge of accessibility and branding in communications
  • Experience with AP style and digital campaign reporting
  • Experience with photography, video content, or visual storytelling is a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and deadline sensitivity
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools for light design and layout is a plus
  • Understanding of college access, K–12 outreach, or college readiness issues is highly desirable
  • Experience supervising student workers or interns is preferred

Working Environment

  • Regular business hours (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.) with in-person on-campus meetings and occasional community event attendance
  • Work is performed in a standard office setting with extended periods of computer use
  • Requires occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds
  • May include some evening or weekend assignments to support outreach events
  • Regular use of digital collaboration tools, marketing platforms, and ASU systems
