Primary job title: Human Resources Intern

About The Opportunity

We are a fast-growing global freelance marketplace and talent solutions provider operating in the remote-first digital services and professional staffing sector. We deliver scalable talent matching, contractor management, and HR support to clients worldwide—leveraging remote workflows and modern HR tooling to drive quality engagements.

Location: India (Remote) | Role Type: Internship

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Support end-to-end recruitment activities: draft job postings, source candidates, screen resumes, and coordinate interviews with hiring managers.
  • Assist with onboarding: prepare offer documentation, collect new-hire data, set up access in HR systems, and run welcome communications for remote hires.
  • Maintain and update HRIS/ATS records, ensure data accuracy, and run routine reports on hiring metrics and headcount.
  • Contribute to HR operations: support employee documentation, contract renewals, and collation of basic payroll and attendance data.
  • Help run employee engagement initiatives and internal communications—coordinate virtual events, surveys, and recognition programs.
  • Work with the HR team to research policies, compliance requirements, and best practices; prepare summaries and process checklists.

Skills & Qualifications

We value both technical HR abilities and interpersonal skills. Below are the expectations for candidates, divided into hard (technical) and soft skills, with level guidance.

Hard skills (Technical)

  • Must - Basic: Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Must - Basic: Basic experience with recruitment or HR administration (internship, campus hiring, or freelance recruiting projects); familiarity with drafting job descriptions, candidate sourcing, and screening.
  • Must - Basic: Proficient with Excel/Google Sheets (filters, basic formulas, tables) and comfortable using email and cloud collaboration tools; strong written and verbal English communication.
  • Preferred - Working/Intermediate: Familiarity with HRIS/ATS platforms (e.g., Zoho Recruit, Freshteam, Workday) and remote collaboration tools (Slack, Teams); ability to run simple ATS reports.
  • Preferred - Familiarity: Understanding of employment documentation, confidentiality practices, and basic labor compliance in India.

Soft skills

  • Must - Good: Organized with strong attention to detail; able to manage tasks and deadlines in a remote setting.
  • Must - Good: Proactive attitude and willingness to learn; comfortable asking clarifying questions and following up on tasks.
  • Preferred - Strong: Effective stakeholder communication and teamwork; able to coordinate with hiring managers and cross-functional teams.
  • Preferred - Growing: Initiative in process improvement and problem-solving; interest in building HR processes and documentation.

Level key: Basic = limited prior exposure and can perform tasks with guidance; Working/Intermediate = can perform independently for routine tasks; Strong = can lead or coach others on the skill.
