Title: Architectural Technician (CAD / Revit)

Location: 100% Remote

Hire Type: Temporary, full-time through end of 2025 (possibility of extension)

Salary: $25-$30/hr

Sterling Engineering is looking for a CAD/Revit Technician in Downers Grove, IL. This opportunity offers a hybrid work schedule (3x per week in-office). The CAD/Revit Technician will play a critical role in transforming survey data into high-quality Revit models and documentation while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to BIM standards.

Job Duties:

• Convert point cloud survey data into accurate existing condition drawings and 3D Revit models
• Document building systems, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing
• Prepare and quality-check Revit models, drawings, and deliverables
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure consistent application of BIM standards and workflows
• Prepare reports, drawing documentation, and digital project files
• Maintain accuracy, precision, and attention to detail in all deliverables
• Support other production-related tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of experience producing building drawings and layouts in Revit (AutoCAD experience a plus)
• Knowledge of point cloud data workflows (Recap, Cyclone, or similar)
• Strong knowledge of commercial building design standards, methods, and materials
• Knowledge of ADA standards preferred
• Highly proficient with computers, cloud storage systems, Microsoft Office, and video conferencing tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail with ability to meet deadlines independently in a remote/hybrid setting
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality production work without direct oversight
